Teacher's Corner

The ESA Education Programme – together with its network of 23 ESERO national offices – considers teachers and educators as key players in the education of children, both in school and non-formal education settings.

Therefore ESA  supports teachers and educators in active, learner-centred teaching paths according to state-of-the-art STEM didactics standards such as project-based learning, design-based learning, inquiry, and interdisciplinarity. Role modelling and awareness of careers in the STEM and the space sector, linked to 21st century skills (critical thinking, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills), are also part of the offer.

Space, with its cutting-edge multi-disciplinary nature, and with its ability to be part of the solution to global challenges, is used to facilitate the introduction of curricular subject knowledge as well as of topics of societal and economic relevance: such AI, coding, robotics, climate & environment, cybersecurity, as well as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, resilience, innovation.

The activities proposed include teacher and educator training, hands-on interdisciplinary projects, and a wide range of classroom resources, both in English and national languages.
