The European Space Agency’s Education Office is pleased to announce that the 5th Symposium on Space Educational Activities (SSEA) will take place from 8 to 10 April 2026 and by hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany.
Following previous editions in Padua, Budapest, Leicester, and Barcelona, the 5th SSEA will continue the tradition of being for students, by students—a unique forum where university and vocational students, educators, and space professionals come together to share experiences, showcase projects, and shape the future of space education.

Set against the backdrop of TUM’s Ottobrunn/Taufkirchen Campus—at the heart of Bavaria’s vibrant space ecosystem—the Symposium will offer three days of technical sessions, poster presentations, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. Hands-on student projects, from CubeSats to ISS experiments, will take centre stage alongside discussions on teaching innovation, career development, and emerging trends in space education.
The SSEA directly supports ESA’s long-term goals outlined in its Strategy 2040: preparing future generations, strengthening European competitiveness and autonomy in space, and fostering collaboration, diversity, and inclusion across borders and disciplines. The event will also explore how space education can contribute to tackling global challenges through interdisciplinary learning and innovation.
With students leading and participating at every level—from the organising team to keynote sessions—the 5th SSEA will once again demonstrate the power of education to inspire, connect, and enable the next generation of space professionals.
Stay tuned to ESA Education channels for future announcements, including the opening of abstract submissions and registration.
